The Home Energy Tune-up® Version 1 energy inspection software, from
CMC Energy Services, has been redesigned. Feedback from you, our inspectors
has prompted many of the following new feature changes and additions:
Ability to use your company logo and information on the front page of the Report
Ability to add digital photographs to the Report
Report is produced as a PDF, making it easier to deliver electronically
Expanded Inspector Profile capabilities to save fuel prices for your local area to
use on each survey and to automatically update your company and contact information
Increased flexibility to control whether certain measures or information appear on
the final Report
Automatic data entry checking to eliminate data entry errors
Ability to handle Canadian inspection data
Other Improvements
The Tune-uP software has been improved to be easier and more intuitive. The
following are additional features you can look forward to:
Report layout to emulate standard home inspection reports
Data collection improved to include skylights, multiple water heaters, more recent
energy technologies, and alternative fuels
Improved calculations and cost/savings analysis
Unlimited access to historical survey data for self-training, reference, and view-only access
System & Software Requirements
Version 2 System requirements are:
PC Hardware: A 1.4GHZ+ x86 based CPU (any brand or version) running on a desktop, laptop or tablet PC
Operating System: Windows 2000 SP3 through XP Home/Pro are supported (MAC, Vista, and devices running Windows
CE or Palm OS are NOT supported). Vista will be supported in the system updates after initial software release.
Monitor: Minimum screen resolution of 10nn x 7nn (i.e. 1024 X 768) to support high resolution graphics
RAM Memory: Minimum RAM of 512K to support high resolution graphics and database operations
Input Devices: Full keyboard and mouse for efficient input
Hard Drive Space: 10MB free space on hard drive for storing inspections in progress
Software Installation: A browser that allows you to click RUN when prompted (Windows Internet Explorer
5.0 or higher set as the DEFAULT browser) and an internet connection. If you do not use IE as your default browser,
you will need to enable it to be your default browser TEMPORARILY to complete the software download and installation.
Windows User Account: You MUST have full Administrative rights/priveledges on the computer where you attempt to INSTALL
AND USE the Tune-uP Software. Non-administrative users will not be able to install or login to the software.
System Configuration: You MUST have a stand-alone computer to use the Tune-uP software on. If your computer is running
on a client/server network, you will not be able to install or use the software UNLESS the user account you use has
FULL ADMINISTRATIVE rights/priveledges for software installation and use. Also, if you have made any modifications to
your computer (i.e. such as moving the default path to the My Documents folder or in any way adjusting or "tweaking"
normal Windows/Microsoft settings and functions, the software may not install or may have problems installing.
Exclusions: At this time, PDA or other devices running Windows CE or Palm OS are not supported.
MAC and and Windows computers running operating systems prior to Windows 2000 SP3 and Windows Vista will NOT
BE SUPPORTED with the initial Tune-uP Software release. Vista WILL BE SUPPORTED after the initial release of the software.
Tune-uP Report & Data Collection Form
The Tune-uP Report will contain many new features including:
The inspector's business information & logo
Digital photographs for each section of the Report
Increased elaboration of each measure inspected and evaluated
The Tune-uP data collection form has also been re-designed to match the new fields and measures
in Version 2 of the Tune-uP software. This paper form may be used when doing the inspection
to collect the data for entry into the Tune-uP software.

assisting in the beta test process to contact CMC.
