Home Energy Tune-uP® classes are offered throughout
the country. At this time, we do not offer on-line or distance learning but we do plan on making
these options available in the future. Our training consists of a one and a 1/2 days; 8-hour classroom and 4-hour in-field,
hands-on audit training with continuing education credits available
( 6 MRCs with ASHI / 8 CEUs with NAHI / 8 CEUs with TAREI / 8 CECs with CREIA / 6 hours with FABI / 8 credits with NACHI).
If you take our course for continuing education credits only, none of the following requirements apply to you.
No special tools are required but in order to become a trained energy inspector you must be
a qualified home inspector or have a technical background in building/home construction technology.
2. Complete Your Practice Inspections
Upon completing your training course, CMC requires that you complete 2 FREE practice inspections.
These practice inspections can be performed on your own home, or perhaps the home of
a friend or relative. Once entered into the Tune-uP software, a member of our staff will review
the inspections and notify you of your successful completion of our training program.
3. Use The Tune-uP System to Do Energy Inspections
Upon successful completion of your 2 practice energy inspections you are ready to offer this
beneficial service to your clients. Every time you perform a Tune-uP and enter it into our
web-based program, you will pay a fee. In turn, you can charge your client whatever equitable
fee you decide. The client will pay you for the service. The energy report is generated as
soon as you have completed entering the data so there is no delay or waiting for the results.
As a certified Home Energy Tune-uP® inspector, CMC Energy will list you and your
company on our popular website, including a link to your website.
4. Energy Inspector Certification Requirements
CMC Energy Services will certify an inspector when the following have been met:
When all paperwork has been completed and returned to complete their setup with CMC
A signed contract is on file with CMC
The 2 practice inspections have been entered, reviewed and approved by CMC Staff
